The St. Paul's School is an independent preparatory school operated by the Episcopal Church. Most of St. Paul's students board at the School.

The 32,000 square foot Library building provides a central meeting place and comfortable study environment.

The Ohrstrom Library houses more than 70,000 books, 250 periodicals, microfilm and microfiche, and other media collections; and has the ability of expansion to 100,000 books.

Special climate control was design for the Library's collection or rare documents, photographs, and other archival material.

The building is full air conditioned by a reciprocating chiller plant, which is located beneath the terrace. The air-cooled condenser is also located indoors to avoid the need to locate noisy mechanical equipment outdoor around this centerpiece building on a rural campus

The building is fully sprinklers and protected by an addressable fire alarm system, which reports to the central campus monitoring station.

An emergency generator was provided, to provide power for fire suppression, emergency egress lighting, and heating in winter.
