The Chattanooga Discover Museum was opened to the public in 1994. AltieriSeborWieber provided base building services for MEP and MEP design support for the permanent exhibitry. The exhibit program includes a major water feature, an archaeological dig, as well as many mechanized and interactive exhibit features. The building also houses a small auditorium and administrative offices. The building area is approximately 30,000 gross square feet.

An air-cooled chiller, located outdoors at the rear of the building, serves the building. Separate variable air volume air-handling systems serve the public spaces, administration areas, and auditorium. A gas-fired boiler provides heat for the building.
