This new 24 story office building in a prestigious Fifth Avenue location houses the Takashimaya Department Store on the lower 7 floors. Dining and club facilities occupy the 8th and 9th stories. Corporate and rental offices are located on the upper 14 floors of the building. There is also a guest apartment for visiting executives.

AltieriSeborWieber provided the design for a flexible central air conditioning to accommodate the multiple usage of this unique building is unique. The building is heated by Con Edison steam.

The precious limited basement space was freed by having only the absolutely essential mechanical services located on the level.

The main heating/cooling plant was located on the highest floors of the building. The location of the cooling towers were coordinated to fit within the ornamental character of the top of the building.
