    Andrew J. Sebor is the managing principal of AltieriSeborWieber Consulting Engineers, a firm nationally known for its expertise in the design of institutional buildings including museums, theaters, libraries, educational facilities, and aquariums.

    Mr. Sebor has been responsible for a significant body of institutional projects including numerous projects at colleges and universities. In addition, he has been responsible for all ASW’s projects at The Metropolitan Museum of Art since 1980, (totaling over $100,000,000 in mechanical and electrical construction contracts). He also has directed the firm's projects at the American Museum of Natural History, including the Rose Center housing the new Hayden Planetarium, which opened in March of 2000, and numerous infrastructure projects since. Mr. Sebor was partner in charge of the engineering of the new Visitor Center for the Mark Twain House, the first LEED certified museum in the United States.

    Other significant projects, which have been recently completed under Mr. Sebor’s direction, include the new gallery and curatorial pavilion at the Museum of the City of New York and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which opened in November of 2004. Other significant projects include the renovation to the Yale University Art & Architecture Building, originally designed by Paul Rudolph, the new Stone Hill Center for the Clark Art Institute, the Asia Society (New York), and the Renovation of the Mead Art Museum at Amherst College.

    Work under design or in construction includes a new wing at the North Carolina Museum of Art, the new Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, and the Hamilton College Theater/Studio Arts and Art Museum projects.

    Mr. Sebor has been a member of the following professional societies and associations:

    Mr. Sebor has lectured on the subject of “museum climate control”, “re-engineering for historic structures” “residential heating/cooling systems”, and “the economics of geothermal energy” at Columbia University, Pratt Institute, FIT, the City College of New York, the New York Chapter of ASHRAE, and the New York City Municipal Arts Society. In May of 1998, Mr. Sebor lectured at the National AIA Convention on the subject of Systems Integration in institutional buildings. In June of 2008 Mr. Sebor lectured at the National AIA Convention on the subject of planning and envelope issues in the design of highly humidified buildings.

    From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Sebor was appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Mr. Sebor served as a panelist on the New York State Council of the Arts, grant committee, between 1994 and 1997.

    Mr. Sebor actively participates in the design of all of his projects. He will actively direct the evolution of the systems design, conducting much of the design research himself. He will also interface heavily with the client's user group, drawing upon his broad experience to contribute to project programming.

    Mr. Sebor is the author of the HVAC Appendix to the Society of the Preservation of National History Collection, Washington D.C. publication "Storage of National History Collections; A Preventive Conservation Approach;" Rose, Hawks, Genoways Editors, SPNHC.
