Our general scope of work included HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services for this high-end retail/restaurant space. The previous tenant had been the Copacabana nightclub, however the space had been vacant for ten years. A major renewal on infrastructure was necessary. The project was begun in late 1997 and was completed two years later.
Portions of the floor were cut away to allow light to reach the restaurant, one level below grade. The glass entry bridge serves a dual purpose; it acts both as railing and a shield against cold air infiltration in winter.

Careful management of air and odor migration was necessary to allow the kitchen to become a visible feature of the design and to allow kitchen, dining and retail spaces to be placed in close proximity to each other.
No central services were available from the host building; creative solutions for location of external air conditioning equipment were required.
ASW worked closely with the architect Gabellini Associates to incorporate lighting, fire alarm devices, air supply outlets, and sprinkler heads, into Gabellini's elegant, highly detailed interiors.
